Given UMSL's College of Optometry is the only optometric program in the state, we assume a responsibility greater than being an anchor institute to our community. We assume a responsibility to serve all of Missouri, especially counties lacking access to eye care services. Given that those same counties likely lack broadband connectivity, our working model serves as example of how healthcare equity efforts through technology can close healthcare gaps.
